The City of Trier’s economic development agency will use PlexMap Immo as a central portal for marketing commercial spaces and vacant properties within the city. Digital vacancy registers serve as effective tools for vacancy management, as well as for urban densification initiatives and the redevelopment of brownfield sites. PlexMap Immo enables stakeholders in economic development, city marketing, and city center management to manage and showcase commercial properties within a single, centralized application. Compared to existing solutions, this powerful WebGIS offers the capability to present commercial spaces and properties in three dimensions.

Trier is an independent city on the Moselle River and, with a population of 105,054 (as of December 31, 2025), is the fourth-largest city in the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, following Mainz, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, and Koblenz. Founded more than 2,000 years ago as Augusta Treverorum, Trier is considered one of Germany’s oldest cities, as it held city rights as early as Roman times.

Geoplex has a long-standing partnership with the City of Trier. Geoplex has provided the Trier solar cadastre since 2012; in 2020, the system’s data was updated and it was upgraded to “PlexMap Solar.” In 2025, the municipal Office for Land Management and Geoinformation decided to expand its instance to include PlexMap 3D and PlexMap Oblique. We are now pleased to be collaborating with the city’s economic development agency as well.

PlexMap Immo features a modern look and feel and, unlike existing solutions, offers the ability to present commercial properties in 3D. Additionally, the solar potential for each property can now be queried!
