The city of Trier relies on PlexMap 3D and PlexMap Oblique

Trier is an independent city on the Moselle River and, with 104,342 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2024), the fourth-largest city in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate after Mainz, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, and Koblenz. Founded more than 2,000 years ago as Augusta Treverorum, Trier is considered the oldest city in Germany, having already held city rights in Roman times.

Geoplex has been providing a solar cadastre for the city of Trier since 2012. In 2020, the system was updated on the data side and upgraded to PlexMap Solar. Now, the city’s Office for Land Management and Geoinformation has decided to expand its own instance to include PlexMap 3D and PlexMap Oblique. The city of Trier aims to establish a central data hub through PlexMap Magazine and the PlexMap Switchboard and also relies on PlexMap for its own CityGML data storage. PlexMap 3D is also used for viewing.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Trier!
