With PlexMap GreenRoof you can find out with just one click which roofs are suitable for green roofing.

With a green roof register, homeowners can find out whether green roofing is possible on their own house or garage roof.

For this purpose, a mathematical check is carried out based on the automatically detected roof sides to determine whether each roof side is suitable for green roofing.

Uncover potential for green roofs.

Which roofs can be used for green roofs depends primarily on the respective roof pitch.

The size of a roof area must also be taken into account in order to calculate savings in stormwater fees. The size of the roof is also important for calculating particulate matter reduction and CO2 savings.

In addition, an irradiation grid is calculated to make a recommendation regarding the plant community best suited to each roof.

Advantages

A green roof register offers citizens a quick and intuitive introduction to the topic of green roofs and is an effective means of promoting expansion. Learn about all the advantages of our green roof register!

  • Green roof registers promote the greening of roofs locally in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

  • Green roof registers are a useful extension to an existing solar register.

  • Green roofs filter air pollutants, particulate matter, and increase biodiversity.

  • Green roofs are a valuable water reservoir during heavy rainfall events.

  • Simple and targeted advice for interested citizens.

  • Improvement of the urban climate through positive effects on the formation of cold air.

  • The potential of the building’s own properties can be separately reviewed as part of the recording.

  • Optional: An automated inventory of existing green roofs is possible.

Add-ons

Detecting existing green roofs

Based on CIR aerial images (three-channel aerial images including near-infrared), Geoplex uses remote sensing methods to fully automatically detect existing green roofs.

CIR images are already available in many locations and can be obtained free of charge from open data portals.

This results in an inventory of existing green roofs (including size in m²). The analysis can be easily repeated in subsequent years using new aerial images to demonstrate the development of the existing green roofs.

Add-ons

Expand the Green Roof Register with a Solar Energy Register

Based on the roof surfaces already identified for the green roof inventory, a solar inventory can be created relatively inexpensively.

Combining photovoltaic systems with green roofs offers the advantage that the vegetation layer cools the roof, thus ensuring greater efficiency of the solar modules, as they operate better at lower temperatures.

This creates a perfect synergy between green electricity generation and ecological green roofs.

Add-ons

Build your own energy portal with PlexMap Portal

If you operate multiple applications (e.g., a solar cadastre, a green roof cadastre, and a heat cadastre), it makes sense to set up your own energy portal.

Citizens can then see all available applications at a glance via the energy portal. Users can also configure their own layer combinations in the portal.
